    Remarks: 
    The memorial was designed and built to honor the 124 men of White Pine County who gave their lives to their country in the Spanish-American War & Philippine Insurrection, World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Over $43,000 was raised for the cost of the memorial, with donations from individuals, businesses and foundations. IAS files contain publication "A Salute to White Pine's Gold Stars," Carson City, NV: Carson Street Publishing, 1997, which includes biographical information on the men honored.
