Inscription:  (Front of base:) ERECTED/IN MEMORY OF/OUR NATIONS DEFENDERS unsigned Description:  Uniformed World War I soldier standing at attention. He is wearing a helmet; knee-length breeches; leggings; and a buttoned waist-length jacket with military belt. He holds the barrel of a rifle at waist level in his proper right hand. The butt of the rifle is on the plinth parallel to his proper right leg. The soldier is standing in front of a tree stump. The statue is placed on a tiered base. The middle portion of the base is polished granite.
