The figure wears a shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a harmonica in the breast pocket. He also wears loose, casual trousers and is barefoot. The sculpture was funded with a $75,000 memorial fund established by the friends and family of Mrs. Seymour, a $2,500 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
