Two marble sculptures of Confederate soldiers stand on either side of a tall, draped shaft. The figures and shaft rest on a three-tiered limestone base. Both soldiers wear military uniforms including hats. Both stand with their heads bowed. One soldier faces west and leans on a sword. He wears a belt with a buckle with the initials "CS" on it. The other soldier faces east and leans on a rifle. The two soldiers lean against a rectangular marble column which was part of the original monument. The flag-draped obelisk was added in the 1980s. At the lower north face of the sculpture is a draped cannon; its south-facing counterpart, missing, removed by vandals.

Remarks:
This monument and its site were funded by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. It was deeded to the Confederate Monument Association. At the time of the 1992 Save Outdoor Sculpture survey, the Holly Springs Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans had a copy of the deed, were seeking a legal determination of ownership and were raising an estimated $12,000 for repairs.
