    Description: 
    A soldier holding a rifle in his proper right hand at the muzzle while his left hand clutches a rolled document. He is wearing a brimmed hat and has a rolled blanket over his proper right shoulder. He stands atop a tall shaft, two additional figures are near the bottom of the shaft. On the proper left side is a woman holding a wreath at her side. On the proper right side of the base is a soldier wearing a brimmed hat and holding a rifle in his proper right hand. He is also carrying a back pack with a rolled blanket on top, canteen, knap sack, and cartridge box. Crossed rifles appear on the lower front base and flag poles are located on the east and west side of the sculpture.
