    Remarks: 
    Rothsay was designated "Prairie Chicken Capital of Minnesota" in 1975. The sculpture is intended to remind residents and visitors of the beauty of the prairie grasslands. Built with assistance and funds from the community. IAS files contain transcription of information on nearby plaque describing the prairie chicken. IAS files contain a related article from the Pelican Rapids Press (Minnesota), June 17, 1976, with information on the sculpture's dedication. IAS files also contain unidentified articles with information on the sculpture's creation, dedication and significance to the city of Rothsay, as well as its appearance on television.
