    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a uniformed Civil War soldier stands on a decorative pedestal and tiered base. The figure wears a long, caped coat, cap and moustache. He stands holding his rifle in front of him with the butt at his feet and his hands around the barrel. The top of the pedestal is trimmed with stars. Other decorative elements include crossed flags and United States shield with eagle, crossed cannons and cannon balls, crossed swords and an anchor.

    Remarks: 
    Erected by the G. H. Ewing Post No. 203, Grand Army of the Republic and Women's Relief Corps. The project was initiated by the Corps in 1894. The $1,300 cost was raised through public subscription and other fundraising activities sponsored by the Post and Corps. IAS files contain an excerpt from the "Stockbridge Area 125th Anniversary Celebration, 1960."
