Description:
A metal flagpole is installed in the center of a low, semicircular granite wall that is adorned in the center with a relief of the American Legion emblem. The wall features a bronze inscription plaque at each end.

Remarks:
The memorial was installed by the Town of Longmeadow to honor Albert T. Wood, the only Longmeadow soldier to be killed in action during World War I. IAS files contain a copy of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Form B - Building questionnaire dated Jan. 1979.
