    Description: 
    A fountain made of granite blocks is adorned with a bronze lion's head spout that pours water into a rectangular basin. A small low basin on the side is for dogs.

    Remarks: 
    The fountain was a gift from Hon. Henry W. Warren, a town official who was largely responsible for the town's decision to secure a pure water supply for the citizens of Holden. Originally, the fountain was located on the Holden Common, but was later moved to the Grove Cemetery. IAS files contain a copy of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Form C - Monuments questionnaire.
