Description:
A uniformed, mustached Civil War soldier stands at parade rest, holding the barrel of his rifle with both hands at chest-level, the butt resting by his proper left foot. He wears a flat billed cap and a belted jacket from which hangs a bayonet at his proper left hip. A cartouche with "U.S." inscribed in raised letters hangs from the rear of his belt. A stump is behind his proper right leg. The soldier is mounted upon an inscribed, two-tiered, block base, set on a foundation.

Remarks:
The monument commemorates the Civil War dead in the cemetery. The monument was vandalized in spring 1991. The sculpture was broken at the neck and the rifle was broken in three places. Repairs were done 1992-1993 by the Williamson Funeral Home.
