A stylized, full-length figure of a man standing and holding a long-handled net. His proper right hand holds the end of the net's handle, while his proper left hand holds the handle near its middle. He is leaning slightly to his proper left, as if in the act of dipping or lifting the net for alewives. The figure wears boots and a hat, and is located on a pier on the edge of a river.
