    Description: 
    Sculpture consists of a center sundial and four abstract figures of children on a round, two-tiered base. The children are two boys and two girls who encircle the sundial and wave flags. Images on the flags include sunflowers, solar birds, sunfish, a dog, an ice cream cone and a rising sun.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned under the Maine Percent for Art Program. The granite for the sundial was quarried in Barre, Vermont. The illustrations on the flags were transcribed from drawings by third grade students from the school based on their impressions of the sun. IAS files contain a related article from the Morning Sentinel (Maine), Sept. 22-23, 1990.
