H. 9 ft. 10 in. x W. 7 ft. 10 in.; Base: approx. H. 3 ft. x W. 10 ft. Inscription:  (On plaque at center:) Sundancers by Robert I. Katz/1990/44 (degree symbol) 34 min./commissioned for/Benton Elementary School/and the citizens of Maine/Maine Percent for Art Act. signed Description:  Sculpture consists of a center sundial and four abstract figures of children on a round, two-tiered base. The children are two boys and two girls who encircle the sundial and wave flags. Images on the flags include sunflowers, solar birds, sunfish, a dog, an ice cream cone and a rising sun.
