    Description: 
    Male figure is dressed in a shirt with the sleeves rolled up and pants tucked into his knee-length boots. He kneels before a lobster, holding onto it and plugging its claw, a procedure known as pegging the lobster. On the ground behind the man is a coiled rope and a cap with a visor. The figure rests atop a square base, embedded with large stones.

    Remarks: 
    The original plaster model was created by Victor Kahill for l939 World's Fair Maine Exhibit. This piece was cast from the original plaster by Norman Therrien. This cast honors H. Elroy Johnson, a Bailey Island resident who modeled for the original in 1939. It was financed through private subscription. IAS files contain related articles from the Maine Sunday Telegram, June 15, 1975, the Evening Express (Portland, ME), Feb. 9, 1977 and June 23, 1980 and the Portland Press Herald, July 23, 1977 and Nov. 23, 1977.
