    Description: 
    A figure of a Civil War soldier stands at parade rest with both hands clasping the upper end of his rifle, the proper left hand over the proper right. His proper left leg is set forward. The butt of the rifle rests against the inside of the soldier's proper right toe with the trigger guard oriented outward. The soldier wears a brimmed cap and a wind-blown cape buttoned at the neck. He has a thick moustache, but is otherwise clean-shaven. On his back at the proper right side can be seen a cartridge pouch. A bayonet hangs from a belt on his proper right side. The sculpture is placed atop a semi-polished square-shaped base with an attenuated upper section.
