Sculpture: white Carrara marble; Base: stone.

Sculpture: approx. 61 x 29 x 25 in.; Base: approx. 6 x 31 x 28 in. (1,800 lbs.).

Joseph and a young Jesus stand next to Mary who is seated on a bench to their proper left. Joseph, dressed in mid-calf length robes and sandals, places his proper left hand on Mary's back and his proper right hand on Jesus' shoulder. Mary, dressed in long robes and a veil over her head, places her proper right hand on Jesus' back. A barefoot Jesus, dressed in a short-sleeved robe, reaches out with his proper left hand to grasp the proper left hand of Mary. The sculpture rests on a low rectangular base in the center of a circular planter.

The sculpture was created by five Italian artisans and was imported to the United States by F. C. Ziegler Company in Wichita and then brought to Halstead. IAS files contain a copy of the dedication program.
