    Description: 
    A standing Union infantryman in sentry stance, with proper left foot slightly forward, and proper left hand over proper right hand, holding a rifle barrel with its butt on the ground. He wears a billed cap, a great-coat and a knapsack. The sculpture is mounted on a multi-tiered base, with an upper pedestal section. There are reliefs on the base's second tier from the bottom, with crossed cannons on the left and right, crossed swords on the rear and crossed muskets with bayonets and a knapsack on the front.
