    Description: 
    A World War I soldier stands dressed in a campaign hat, a jacket with insignia, and a cartridge belt. His bayonet hangs on his proper left side, a canteen on his proper right side, and a pouch on his front. With is proper right hand he holds a rifle by the end of the barrel. The butt rests next to his proper right foot. The sculpture is mounted on a low base with rough-hewn sides. A gravestone is mounted on the base to the left of the sculpture.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture marks the graves of brothers Raymond (1897-1919) and Thomas (1895-1919) Riddle. Thomas returned from World War I only to succumb to flu in 1919. A short time later his brother Raymond also died of flu. The sculpture was created in Bedford, Indiana.
