(Base front:) NATHAN HINKLE/BORN JUNE 7, 1749/DIED DEC. 25, 1848 unsigned

Standing figure of a Revolutionary War soldier atop a tiered pedestal. A tree stump is on his proper left. He wears a vest, a buttoned jacket with tails in the back, a pouch across his chest and a tricorn. He originally held something with both hands to his chest. That object is now broken off.
