Description:
A Civil War soldier stands with his proper right hand raised in front of him where he once held a rifle. His proper right leg is braced from behind by a stump. He is dressed in a uniform and a wide-brimmed hat. The sculpture is mounted atop a shaft with a tiered lower section set upon a stepped bottom. Crossed flags in low relief appear on the rear of the base. Cannonballs rest at the top of each corner of the bottom tier.

Installed under the auspices of the Millican Chapter No. 597 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in honor of Franklin Confederate soldiers who fought in the Civil War.
