    Description:
Figure group in bronze of a family fleeing a hurricane. The father is on the proper right. He is running forward; his upper body is twisted to the proper right to look back. He holds his proper right arm bent and high, as if shielding his head. He wears a shirt and trousers. Next to him, in the center of the group, is a young boy. He too, is running forward with his head turned to look back. He wears a shirt and trousers. On the boy's proper left is the mother. She wears a dress; the skirt of the dress is swirling around her. In her proper left arm she carries a baby; her proper right hand is raised to her forehead. The sculpture stands on a rectangular concrete base. Bolted to the front face of the base is a bas-relief sculpture depicting a hurricane. On the far right side of the relief are three houses, on the shoreline, being swept away by the flood. On the left of the panel is the sea, with large waves taller than the first house. Palm trees, bent to the right by wind, are depicted in the background. There are also two broken utility poles.
