Inscription:  (Front of base, incised letters:) IN MEMORY OF WOODBURY SOLDIERS/WHO DIED IN THE REBELLION OF 1861 (Above, incised letters: names of 1 1st lieutenant, 2 2nd lieutenants, 4 sergeants, with dates of death ranging from 1863-1865) (South: 8 corporals, 4 privates) (East: 13 privates, with year of death as early as 1862) (North: 13 privates) unsigned Description:  A rectangular shaft with the seal of Connecticut in relief on front, is mounted on a tiered base.
