A rectangular shaft with the seal of Connecticut in relief on front, is mounted on a tiered base.

Remarks:
At a town meeting held on Oct. 3, 1870, it was proposed to draw the sum of $1,000 from the treasury to be used with $1,500, already raised by the Woodbury Soldiers' Monument Association.
