    Description: 
    Five mosaic tiled sculptures installed in a circular arrangement, the largest topped a flat steel "sun" that casts its shadow on the small center sculpture during the spring and fall equinox. The largest sculpture represents the ocean and prehistoric life forms; the second largest sculpture represents the peiord after the eastern mountain range pushed upward and the area became marshlands; the third largest sculpture represents a time when the mountains pushed upward drying the landscape and creating a flat field; the fourth largest sculpture represents the rain-shadow desert and its plant life; and the smallest sculpture in the center bears teh four cardinal directions.
