    Description: 
    A full-length female figure holding a baby is dressed in a long corseted dress with her baby sitting on her proper left shoulder facing forward. The woman's proper right hand is held out. She stands on rocky ground surrounded by foliage. The sculpture is installed on a pink granite base that is set into a niche in a granite aggregate wall.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture is one of two installed at either end of the Confederate Memorial plaza. (For related record see GA000708). The plaza and sculptures were financed with bonds. The inscription on the base was carved by di Baccari. IAS files contain transcriptions of additional plaques found on the memorial plaza.
