Description:
Saint Anthony stands holding a book on which stands a nude child with its arms extended. Saint Anthony wears sandals and a full-length robe, and a rosary around his waist. The sculpture is mounted on a square base.

Remarks:
The sculpture is a gift of the Portuguese Government. People have left gifts (coins and candy) at the base of the feet, and rub the feet. The sculpture's metal base appears to have been replaced and the sculpture may possibly have been moved. IAS files contain: clipping from the San Antonio News, June 14, 1973; flyer entitled "Portugal Hemisfair, San Antonio, Texas, 1968," by San Antonio Fair, Inc., c. 1968.
