    Description: 
    Standing full-length figure of St. Dominic of Guzman, with a star on his head. Figure is wearing a religious robe, with a rosary hanging on his proper left side. His proper left hand holds a book to his proper left hip. The figure's proper right hand is raised above his head. The figure stands on a base featuring a relief of a dog with a torch in its mouth on one side, and a shield with a cross on the opposite side.

    Remarks: 
    St. Dominic of Guzman was the founder of the Dominican order. The statue was commissioned in 1961 by Father Rayfield McMullen for his new church. IAS files contain an interpretation of the various symbolic elements of the statue and base associated with Dominicans.
