Remarks:
Dr. Yalden completed the dialing before his death in 1937, but the design for the sundial was completed by Rutherford Boyde. Fred Hammargren did a portion of the sculptural carvings and Robert A. Baillie did the rest including the dialing and the top globe. The sundial was a gift of Charles R. Crane. IAS files contain an excerpt from The Collecting Net (July 17, 1937): pg. 66 and a copy of the dedication remarks.
