    Remarks:
The sculpture began when a sixth-grade class at Rice Elementary School in Lancaster wrote the artist to ask if she would sculpt a statue of Andrew Jackson for the park. The artist presented the sculpture to the park as a gift to the schoolchildren of South Carolina. It was dedicated on the 200th anniversary of Jackson's birth. Wylie Brothers provided the base, which was funded by local school children.
