Formerly in the collection of Wright, John Thomas, Southeast A Street, Linton, Indiana 47441 until 1990.

The lions were originally placed in front of the artist's home on Southeast A Street in Linton. His widow arranged for them to be donated to the city upon her death, which occurred in 1990. The city owns the Fairview Cemetery and placed them there.
