    Owner:
Administered by City of New York, Department of Parks and Recreation, The Arsenal - Central Park, New York, New York 10021
Located Christopher Park, Christopher Street between Stonewall Place & West 4th Street, New York, New York
    Remarks:
The sculpture was created for Christopher Park because it is "across the street from the former location of the Stonewall Bar where riots in 1969 turned out to be the real start of the gay liberation movement in America." The sculpture was funded through the Mildred Andrews Fund of Cleveland which paid about 90,000 dollars for it in 1980. The installation was delayed first by the reconstruction of Christopher Park in 1985 and also by community protests. For related article see: New York Times, June 19, 1992, pg. C16 which describes the delays.
