Funds for the new library designed by Frank Williams of Williams and Associates and built by Laxton Construction Company were approved in Dec. 1968. IAS files contain related newsclippings from Stanly County Library Heritage Room Scrapbook dating from Aug. 1971-Aug. 1972, which indicate the sculpture was created by Bireline and was at least partially in place by Sept. 3, 1971. IAS files also contain detailed diagrams with dimensions and location information for the individual sculptural components.
