    Provenance:
Formerly located Anonymous Collection, San Rafael, California
    Acquired from Florence, Italy, 1929.
    Remarks:
The sculpture and fountain were crafted in Italy in the late 1800's. They were purchased in 1929 in Florence, Italy and brought to a private residence in San Rafael, CA. Prior to installation at the current location, they were in storage. While in storage, the horses were stolen. Replicas of the horses were made from the original fountain casts by an Italian craftsman, replacing the stolen pieces. The fountain sits in a colonnade designed by architect Williams. IAS files contain copy of Litton Industries' brochure "History of Litton Plaza".
