    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a uniformed World War I soldier stands on a rough-hewn granite pedestal. The figure wears a round tin hat and knapsack and holds his rifle with bayonet in combat-ready position.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture has been moved within the grounds twice. It was commissioned by the Daughters of the American Revolution for $1,850. The stone for the base came from the Pellow Brothers Quarry. The bayonet has been replaced twice, first in 1991 by sculptor Tasso Pitsiri, and once since then. An attached article from the Enid Daily Eagle, July 4, 1974, credits William Ahern as the artist and Stephen Rebeck as the sculptor.
