DESIGNED BY SENECA/ARTIST CARSON WATERMAN, THE MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED WITH/FUNDS CONTRIBUTED BY THE PUBLIC. THE COLORED TILES/REPRESENT THE SENECA CHIEF CORNPLANTER, A SENECA CLAN/MOTHER AND THE "THREE SISTERS", CORN, BEANS, AND SQUASH/WARREN COUNTY SENECA HERITAGE COMMITTEE unsigned
    Description: 
    Abstract polished black granite birdstone, or atlatl, set on a concrete base. Tile mosaic medallions decorate two faces of the sculpture. One medallion features the head of a Seneca Indian clan mother. She has long, dark hair and is smiling. On the opposite side is a medallion featuring a mosaic portrait of Chief Cornplanter. A third tile mosaic covers most of the triangular back of the sculpture and depicts a stylized rendering of corn, squash and bean plants.
