    Remarks:
The sculpture was donated to Arcadia Memorial Park by Joyce Wanek and Ron Wanek, one of the sculpture designers. The sculpture is based on Frederick Hart's National Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. (IAS record DC000026). The face of the soldier on the proper right of the sculpture was modeled after a photograph of local Vietnam Veteran Pat Moore of Augusta, Wisconsin. Ron Wanek and his son, Todd, molded Moore's face into the figure. The sculpture was dedicated on May 27, 1991 as part of Arcadia's Memorial Day ceremony. IAS files contain related articles from The Arcadia News-Leader (Wisconsin), May 2, 1991 and May 30, 1991; and the Winona Daily News (Minnesota), May 28, 1991.
