    Description: 
    Abstract sculpture whose designs are variations on the Hebrew letter "shin" which represents the presence of God. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular concrete backing and installed on the facade of a building.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned for $18,000, the sculpture won an art competition sponsored by Mt. Sinai Hospital for a piece with the themes of Judaism and medicine. Funds for the commission came from private contributions. The sculpture was inspired by the Biblical verse Jeremiah 3:17, which is quoted on a plaque in the hospital's entrance. The sculpture was originally located at Mt. Sinai Hospital until 1990. It was at the Metropolitan Medical Center from 1990-1991, and was rededicated at its present location in 1991.
