    Description: 
    Standing figure of a confederate soldier in uniform. His proper right hand holds a rifle, the butt of which rests on the ground near his proper right foot. Figure stands on a tall, multi-tiered, stone base.

    Installed under the auspices of Anson Chapter No. 357 United Daughters of the Confederacy at a cost of $2,800. Sergeant John Randle Richardson was the model for this sculpture. IAS files contain text of nearby plaque.
