    Remarks:
The sculpture cost between $1,000 and 1,500. It honors all men who fought and died for the Confederacy. The sculpture was made in Italy. The Ladies Memorial Association probably ordered the sculpture through an Albany, Georgia firm, the W. H. Miller Company. Originally, it was installed at the intersection of Jackson and Pine Streets in Albany. In the 1920s or 1930s, the sculpture was moved to a site in a park across from the Albany Municipal Auditorium after it was knocked over by an automobile. The sculpture was relocated again around 1990 to its current site in Oakview Cemetery, also called Riverside Cemetery.
IAS files contain photocopies of two postcard images of the sculpture in its original location; and a photocopied photograph of the sculpture near the municipal auditorium.
