Installed Sept. 25, 1977. Medium:  Sculpture: bronze; Base: Vermont stone. Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. H. 48 ft. x W. 12 ft.; Base: approx. H. 15 ft. x W. 21 ft. (6 1/2 tons). Description:  Colossal figure of Mary stands on a square base. She wears a hooded robed garment and her hands are slightly extended from her sides, palms up. She holds a set of rosary beads in her hands, with the Crucifix portion at her proper right side. Remarks:  Nearby plaque reads: "Rosary Madonna/Height 48' Weight 6 1/2 tons/Bronze cast in Pistoia, Italy, 1959/Designed by Martin Lumen Winter, New Rochelle, N.Y./Blessed by Pope John XXIII in Vatican/First located at Good Counsel College, White Plains, N.Y./Donated to Marian Shrine, it was erected here on/September 25, 1977 on a pedestal of Vermont stone/on a star-shaped base, like the Statue of Liberty."
