    Remarks:
The sculpture was executed in Norway from a design by Eva Walters (Zaidon), a 1947 Kiser graduate. The total cost of the sculpture was $5,500. A fund for the creation of a panther sculpture was begun by the graduating class of 1932 with a gift of $50. Over the next thirty years the fund grew and in 1959 the North Dayton Kiwanis Club joined forces with the school and community to purchase a black marble sculpture. Originally, it was installed on the school's southeast lawn, but was later moved to the open front court of the gymnasium in 1967. IAS files contain a page photocopied from a publication of the Gem Savings Bank entitled, the Gem City Saver (summer 1979) and a page of text copied from the History of Kiser High School.
