Description:
An immigrant boy, scarf billowing in the wind, dressed in baggy knickers, oversized hand-me-down shoes, with a heavy bag dragging the ground.

Remarks:
The sculpture was donated by siblings Helen Galloway and Fran Jabara, symbolic of their own father's (Farris George Jabara, d. 1957) arrival in the country as a 15 year old in 1903. For the artist, the figure stands for determination, strength, courage, and the advantages of freedom. IAS files contain article from Wichita Eagle, Oct. 23, 1977.
