    Description: 
    A full-length figure of Saint Francis of Assisi walking forward with both arms raised. His proper left foot is forward with his weight resting on it, and the heel of his proper right foot is raised. He is wearing a full-length, hooded robe with the hood down, and he is barefoot.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture depicts St. Francis of Assisi (ca. 1181-1226) praying his joyful "Sun Song," or Canticle of the Sun, with its references to the Sun's beauty, although he was blind at the time. IAS files contain a brochure with a photograph and related material from St. Margaret Mary's Church.
