    Remarks:
The Grotto is staffed by the Order of the Servants of Mary. It was founded in 1924 by Servite Friar Ambrose Mayer, who envisioned a place of retreat for experiencing the presence of God in nature. The sculptures were added at later various times. The Chapel and fountain are gifts of Thomas P. Moyer and family in memory of Marilyn Moyer (1924-1988) and dedicated to motherhood. The fountain is lighted by two rows of path lights. This design won many awards and was featured in Architecture magazine. IAS files include a pamphlet and brochures from the Grotto.
