    Description: 
    A full-length, standing female figure wearing classical robes, with a deer on her proper left side. Figure wears knee-length robe, sash across proper left shoulder and around waist, and sandals. She has a tiara on her head and her hair is tied in a knot in the back. A cylindrical quiver is hanging over her proper right shoulder down her back. Her proper right hand is taking arrows out of the quiver. Her proper left hand holds a bow which is resting on the antlers of a deer. The deer is in a jumping position, front feet lifted, back feet flat on the ground.

    Remarks: 
    A cast lead modified reproduction of a 4th Century B.C. Greek marble statue in the Louvre Museum, Paris. Skylands purchased the sculpture from T. Crowther & Son in 1924 for 350 pounds. IAS files contain the copy of a letter dated Nov. 5, 1924 regarding original sale by T. Crowther & Son and copies of 1992-1993 correspondence from H. Crowther Ltd. to Skyland Association regarding the sculpture's condition and its restoration. Restoration by H. Crowther Ltd. in 1993 included replacing the armature with stainless steel and replacing a missing bow.
