Remarks:
The faces were selected and cast from seventy-five clay masks made by 8th graders at the Commodore Middle School in 1987. Bob Lucas cast and welded the faces to the figures. Erika Szigethy directed the project as part of the 1987-1988 Winter Festival. According to Erika Szigethy, "the faces represent the children's visions of individuals drawn from throughout the world." IAS files contain related articles from the Bainbridge Review, May 5, 1993; and May 19, 1993; and a related article from the Bainbridge Island Almanac (1994).
