    The walls are lined with a latticework pattern of blue and white acoustic tile, and there are fir posts and beams and ceiling latticework. Recorded birdsongs play continuously in the tunnel.

    Cost: $90,000. Purchased with parking revenues and funds from the state's One-half of One Percent for Art Program. Ginny Ruffner was a collaborating artist. Robert Schneider of Bumgardner Architects, and Michael Lord Productions, collaborated on the design. IAS files contain copies of newspaper articles from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Feb. 11, 1986; and the Seattle Times, July 5, 1988, which discuss the experience of walking through the tunnel. IAS files also contain copies from project proposal; accession records; and Rupp, James M., "Art in Seattle's Public Places: An Illustrated Guide," Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1992, pg. 190-191.
