    Remarks:
James John Audubon, 1785-1851, came to the northern Kentucky area in 1819 and made many drawings in the Covington, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio area. It was during his time in the area that he became a professional artist. While in Cincinnati, he worked for a time at the Western Museum, which later became the Cincinnati Natural History Museum. He left Cincinnati, Ohio in October of 1829 and began his project of recording the birds of North America. IAS files contain transcription of nearby plaque.
