    Remarks:
The fountain was a gift of Roberta Beck Utz, whose nickname, Gram, is on the back of the boy's shirt. The two children were modelled after the artist's son (Lars) and daughter (Kare). When originally installed, the young boy held a squirt gun in his proper right hand. Because of controversy over gun violence, the fountain was modified by the artist in August 2000. The boy's squirt gun was replaced with a water hose. The replacement part was cast by Dale Weston's foundry. IAS files contain text of nearby plaque; a related article from The New Mexican, and City of Santa Fe Parks & Recreation Department memo (June 11, 1999) requesting additional funding for replacement of the squirt gun.
