Description:
Site installation of a tall, deep green ship-like structure constructed of painted steel and glass, sitting at a steep angle. Two twelve-inch diameter glass viewports are set flush with the surrounding paving. The viewports allow obscured glimpses of the activity in the convention center hall below ground. Three small metal survey markers are positioned near the ship, near the viewports and on an elevated observation site nearby. The survey markers indicate the actual elevation above sea level at their respective sites. Contained inside the ship, on each of its ribs and along its bottom, are deposits of continental shelf sediment, covered by a sheet of water forming an inner pool at ground level. Also within the ship is a water misting system designed to "seed" natural condensation to promote an interior climate of falling rain.
