    Description: 
    Seated figures of Orestes and Pylades flank a tall pedestal with a bust of Diana on top. Orestes holds a sword in his proper right hand. His proper left hand is raised. Pylades sits with his chin resting on his proper right hand.

    Remarks: 
    German sculptor, Carl Johann Steinhauser, originally created this fountain in Germany and had it installed in the palace park in Karlsruhe. One of his students, Herman Kirn, owned a plaster sketch for the piece and in 1883 he sold it to the Fairmount Park Art Association for 250 dollars. The Art Association then had it cast in bronze by Bureau Brothers for 2,250 dollars.
