    Remarks:
Thaddeus Kosciuszko was a Polish immigrant who became a celebrated Brigadier-General of the Revolutionary War. Statue was erected by Reverend S. Szymanowski in 1894. Surveyor could not firmly establish the artist's identity from the signature, but suggests, "W. Meller." The American Monuments and Outdoor Sculpture Database lists the base media as marble. IAS files contain a photo of the rededication ceremony and biographical excerpt from William H. Richardson, comp., "The Pulaski-Sesqui-Centennial: Its Observance in Jersey City, N.J., 1929, pg. 543-545.
