Inscription:  (Illegible signature on back of bust) (Upper front of base, within a wreath, raised:) 1794/1894 (Middle front of base, raised:) KOSCIUSZKO (Lower left front of base, incised:) ERECTED BY REV. S. SZYMANOWSKI/MAY 30, 1894 signed Description:  Bust of Thaddeus Kosciuszko wearing a military coat open at the neck to reveal a puffed shirt and a sash. The bust rests atop an ornate, multitiered base with inscriptions. Statue was erected by Reverend S. Szymanowski in 1894. Surveyor could not firmly establish the artist's identity from the signature, but suggests, "W. Meller." The American Monuments and Outdoor Sculpture Database lists the base media as marble. IAS files contain a photo of the rededication ceremony and biographical excerpt from William H.
